Broward County Gathered to Stand with Israel
We are beyond grateful and inspired by the 1,200+ people who joined together at our community-wide solidarity gathering. A variety of faiths and backgrounds, as well as several elected officials, showed support for the people of Israel and each other during this horrific situation. Together, we sent a profound and formidable message to the entire world.
Israel Emergency Fund: We have opened an Israel Emergency Fund to funnel vital support from our community to the Israeli people, who are reeling from the most traumatic events in its 75 years of statehood. Now, more than ever, they need our support.

In August of this year, Broward County welcomed one young Israel emissary to our community thanks to the Jewish Agency Shinshinim program. Shinshinim are 18-year-old high school graduates from all over Israel who complete a year of service in Jewish communities around the world, fostering a connection to Israel for community members of all ages.
Shira Tal, who has not yet started her duty in the IDF, lives in our community. She will remain here for one year, during which she brings the culture of Israel to Broward County. Here is a reflection from Shira on how she is coping with the war in Israel.
