Yom HaShoah honors the lives and memory of the six million Jews who were killed during the Holocaust and the millions of other victims of Nazi persecution.

But for Holocaust Survivors living in Broward County, remembrance alone is not enough. Nearly 80 years later, that hope must be renewed—not just with words, but with action.

They survived the unimaginable. They rebuilt lives after loss, terror, and displacement. And yet today, hundreds of survivors in our own community are facing hunger, isolation, and impossible choices between food, rent, and medical care.

Across the United States, an estimated 38,000 Holocaust Survivors remain—and Broward County is home to one of the largest Survivor populations in South Florida. There are nearly 1,500 Holocaust Survivors living in Broward County. More than 700 are in urgent need of help right now.

Through our annual campaign, in support of Holocaust Survivors, your gift becomes a lifeline. Your gift today can mean the difference between a Survivor going without or receiving the care they desperately need.

Through the Jewish Federation of Broward County’s support for Holocaust Survivors, your generosity provides essentials such as nutritious meals, rent and utility assistance, medical care, hearing aids, and in-home support.

This is not about charity. It is about responsibility. It is about ensuring dignity for those who endured history’s greatest atrocity. Together with our trusted partner, Goodman Jewish Family Services of Broward County, we ensure that every dollar you give goes directly to Survivors who need it most.

This Yom HaShoah, let us honor memory with action. Let us stand with Survivors—not just in remembrance of the past, but in compassion for today.

Please give now. Because no one who survived the Holocaust should ever struggle alone.
