A thought-provoking, moving tale about children whose Jewish parents gave them to Christians in desperate attempts to save them from the Nazis. Based on historical phenomena, Once We Were Home provides insight into the reality of post-war life for European Jews. Rosner’s novel pushes the boundaries of Holocaust literature, exploring some of the longer term consequences that survivors and their families faced.
