Karen K. Roberts, CLU, ChFC, CDFA, is passionate about helping women take control of their finances which is why she found The Emerald Financial Group in 2005 and KKRoberts University LLC in 2020. Karen is on a mission to educate and empower women to take control of their financial futures. Her goal is to work with clients to help them have the retirement experience that they want and deserve. Karen’s philosophy is simple: “Live for Today, Plan for Tomorrow!”

A sought-after speaker, Karen has been a keynote for multiple industry conferences. She speaks about the importance of business planning, the financial dynamics of getting divorced, how divorce will affect you financially, understanding your relationship with money, and other financial topics. Karen has been featured on the radio and television. Her TV appearances include The Daily Buzz and The Balancing Act (Lifetime) where she discussed how women can gain control of their financial lives.

She graduated from California State University, Northridge in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in economics.  Karen received the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations from The American College of Financial Services. She is also a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA).

With more than 30 years of experience in the financial service industry, Karen is well-recognized as a thought leader on financial planning for women. She served as the national president of the Women in Insurance and Financial Services (WIFS), president of the Gold Coast Chapter of WIFS in Boca Raton, president of the Broward County Chapter of The Society of Financial Service Professionals, and president of her local chapter of Toastmasters International. She currently serves on the leadership team of the Palm Beach County chapter of the eWomenNetwork.

A believer of giving back to the community, Karen was honored as the 2015 Financial Planning Foundation’s Pro Bono Award Winner. She serves as the grant chairperson for the Jewish Women’s Foundation of Broward County, a group dedicated to helping Jewish women grow and succeed. She also serves as a financial advisor for her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta on the campus of Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Karen is a mentor within the financial services industry, supporting women to become more successful in their careers. She is also an advocate for foster children.

One of the highlights of Karen’s career occurred on December 26, 2011 when she had the honor of ringing the New York Stock Exchange Opening Bell.
