The Jewish Federation of Broward County is looking for a strategic team-player with a “can do” attitude, to engage and inspire the next generation of Jewish leaders in our community. We’re looking for someone who wants to build a forward thinking, philanthropy focused space for young adults to build community and develop and grow as leaders.
What you will be doing:
- Oversee and implement a strategic engagement plan aimed at developing young leaders’ involvement within the Jewish Federation of Broward County to include leadership development, philanthropy, and volunteerism.
- Develop successful strategies to cultivate, steward and sustain commitment to the Federation’s Annual Campaign
- Build a comprehensive lay leadership structure for the YLD Board of Directors
- Organize and Manage Horizons Leadership Program which empowers and develops current and future volunteer leaders of the community.
- Develop significant growth in our participation in JFNA’s National Young Leadership Cabinet
- Create opportunities to strengthen the relationship between young adults and the larger Federation Board and community.
- Partner with leading local, national and global organizations in the young adult space to develop and foster mutually beneficial partnerships aimed at creating a more robust Jewish community for young adults in Broward County, including One Table, Moishe House and others
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Areas of discipline: Jewish communal professional, management, event strategy, understanding of marketing and communications
- Fundraising experience is required
- Minimum of four to six years of experience in leadership roles at Jewish communal institutions
- Charismatic individual who will draw and engage young adults
- Futuristic thinker and executor who will continuously create the next level of achievement
- Driven and determined leader who creates momentum and positive energy
- Prior successes working in the young adult space is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with and understanding of the Broward Jewish community and/or National Jewish community is a plus
- Work some evenings and weekends
The Jewish Federation of Broward (“Federation”) seeks an up-and-coming development professional to support organizational growth through fundraising approaches that fuel the Federation’s mission and vision. The Development Associate will focus on financial resource development, leadership development and community building with a concentration on Women’s Philanthropy (WP) and Young Leadership Division (YLD). Responsibilities will include committee management, program planning and face to face solicitations. The Development Associate will also encourage these constituencies to fully participate in the programs sponsored by the Federation.
What you will be doing:
The ideal candidate for this role is driven to strengthen current practices and embrace new approaches to securing financial resources. Once here, you will:
- Facilitate the planning and execution of events specifically designed for Women’s Philanthropy and Young Leadership, encouraging engagement with the Federation and promoting giving.
- Cultivate, solicit, and maintain on-going relationships with donors, leaders and potential prospects.
- Assist in the recruitment of volunteer solicitors and oversee their campaign tasks.
- Actively participate in the campaign team’s efforts.
- Engage in phone-a-thons and other events as needed.
- Serve as a Federation representative at community and partner events; support and recruit for major Federation events and initiatives.
- Enhance communication and collaboration across various departments, committees, and staff members.
- Consistently uphold the Federation’s mission through exceptional customer service and efficient use and maintenance of resources.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in community organizing and/or financial resource development for a Jewish communal or non-profit agency.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and experience in building trusted, collaborative, and strong relationships with donors, lay leadership and colleagues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a leader and as part of a team.
- Work some evenings and weekends
